Oats White sauce

White Sauce is a simple but an important sauce for many recipes. It is basically made of butter, flour and milk. While cooking dinner last night, I tried replacing refined flour to oats, and the result was quite satisfying and healthy too. From now on I will stick to this "healthy version of White sauce". So try using this sauce in pasta dishes, lasagne, veg or non veg dishes or use it the same way you use the regular white sauce. Hope you like it!!! Get the recipe here!!

You need
1 cup milk
1/4 cup instant oats
2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
1/3 cup cheese grated (optional)
salt to taste

Method
1. In a pan, heat butter (add a little oil to prevent burning the butter) and put garlic.
2. After a minute, add milk, oats and cheese (if using). Cook till done.
3. Turn off the burner and let it stand to cool.
4. When it is cool, blend the sauce in a blender till smooth and creamy. If it is thick, add more milk.
5. Season the sauce with oregano, salt and pepper.

Enjoy!!!!!
