Chocolate Brownies

Valentine's day is incomplete without chocolate, agree? I know you are!! So here is my favorite brownie recipe, which is so divine! I made it twice this week (on demand) , the first one was fudgy , chewy and the second batch was a little fluffy and cakey  , with only a slight difference in both of them, that  I will tell you later. I 've used  cocoa powder (I always run out of   chocolates no matter how much I stock, hehe) and used cream instead of butter ( for even softer brownies). So now you don't need to rush out and buy ingredients ( generally we have cocoa powder and cream at home)  to  have a stress-free valentine's special cooking!!! Have a wonderful valentine's day!! This recipe ends my valentine's day special week. Hope you like all the recipes, which were so easy yet delicious!!!

You need
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup fresh cream
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoon sugar
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
3 tablespoon warm water
 oil for greasing

Method

1. Mix warm water in cocoa powder. Make a paste.

2. In a double boiler ( or boil water in a pan, put a wide mouthed bowl on it. Make sure the bowl doesn't touch the water) add cream and whisk for few seconds.

3. Add cocoa and sugar in cream. Whisk continuously till the mixture is just hot ( not very hot and not just warm). Keep aside.

4. Preheat oven at 170 C. Line a 7 inch baking pan with butter paper. Grease the paper with a little oil. Keep aside.

5. Go back to the cocoa mix. It should be a little warm by now. Add the egg and whisk for 2 minutes.

6. Gradually add the flour and whisk again for a minute.

7. Pour the mixture in the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or till the knife, when inserted, comes out clean.( keep an eye on the brownies after 30 minutes as ovens do vary)

8. Cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into square shapes. Drizzle some chocolate sauce and cream on them. ENJOY!!

Now for the fluffy and cakey brownies, do two things
1. Increase the quantity of flour to 1/3 cup
2. Decrease the baking time to 30 minutes (however you have to keep a check, as ovens do vary)

Here how they look. I put some seeds on them for some crunch!
